When: Sunday, September 27 — Begins at 10am, come for the whole day or a few hours
Where: Ski Hill
Bring: Eye protection, work gloves, a water bottle, layers for rain or shine, and plenty of stoke!
Fall always feels like it moves a little too fast. One minute we’re soaking up the last days of summer, and the next we’re back to school, reaching for a jacket on those cool mornings, and fully embracing pumpkin season.
But for LWSC, fall also means game time.
Behind the scenes, our incredible staff are working hard to get the hill ready for another season. Machines are repaired, trails are prepped, memberships are renewed, events are scheduled, budgets are built, grants are written, seasonal staff are hired, volunteers are recruited—and the list goes on. There is a tremendous amount of work that happens before we ever click into our skis, and it all helps create the magic that makes Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.
For me, nothing quite marks the transition into the season like our annual Fall Clean-Up.
This year, we’re excited to welcome our community on Sunday, September 27. Last year, more than 100 community members showed up ready to work—and they brought so much heart and energy with them. Let’s see if we can match that—and maybe even beat it!
There’s something pretty special about watching that many people come together. What starts as a slightly intimidating list of “to-dos” quickly turns into raking, trimming, fencing, prepping, stacking wood, hauling, laughing, catching up, and getting it done. And somehow, by the end of the day, the hill looks completely transformed.
That’s one of the things I love most about the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.
It’s the people.
I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this community—to serve alongside our amazing staff, Board members, volunteers, and all of you who show up year after year to make this place what it is. From longtime members who know every corner of the hill to the next generation just discovering what LWSC is all about, everyone has a part in the day.
So, let’s do it again.
Come for the whole day or join us for a few hours. Bring your family, bring a friend, bring your work gloves, and bring your stoke. Whatever time and energy you can contribute makes a real difference in getting the hill ready for the season ahead.
We truly couldn’t do it without YOU.
And because hard work is always better with good food, lunch will be generously provided by Yodelin and Bosket Bread.
