Practices
The Masters Team meets on Tuesdays from 5:30–7:00 pm at the Ski Hill Trailhead January 5 through February 23. Sessions blend focused technique drills for both classic and skate skiing with fun workouts designed to accommodate all levels of skiers. Practice times and venues may need to be adjusted depending on snow conditions—stay tuned for updates.
Coaching
Our coaches are fellow Masters skiers with experience coaching and racing at different levels. They’re prepared to help you improve your skiing efficiency, feel the joy of gliding on snow with friends, and meet your own fitness or technique goals.
Ability
In cross-country skiing a “master “is anyone 30 years or older, but we welcome all skiers 18 or older. You will get the most out of this program if you already have basic skills and can ski the full Ski Hill course. If you’re looking for a “learn-to-ski” program, check out our Nordic lessons and clinics.
Communication
We’ll use email and team app updates to share details about practice times, conditions, and any schedule changes. Stay connected with your coaches and teammates throughout the season!
Competition
While the Masters Team isn’t focused on racing, there are plenty of opportunities to test your skills and join in the fun at local events like Skirennen and potential opportunity to travel to some state-wide events if interested. Participation is optional—but cheering each other on is always encouraged!
You'll need both classic and skating equipment.
For classic skis, you can use skin, fish-scale, or waxable bases. We’ll bring along a waxing bench on classic days. Please contact a coach if you have equipment questions prior to the season.
