The Leavenworth Nordic Trail System
We maintain 26km of tracks and skating lanes that offer a variety of skiing terrain in four areas around Leavenworth. Five kilometers are lighted for night skiing.
Icicle River Trails - 8 km
This is a very popular spot for families and recreational skiers because of its dependable snow conditions, gentle terrain and scenic views of the surrounding peaks. Trails wind 8 km. through the woods, over bridges, across open meadows and along the Icicle River.
Golf Course Trails - 8 km
In this lovely setting the tracks and skating lanes climb hills to offer skiers spectacular views of the Wenatchee River below and the Cascade mountains beyond. They descend in wide sweeping curves or more thrilling direct runs to join the river for a while before winding through open groves of huge pines to climb another hill.
Waterfront Park Trails - 3 km
Just one block from downtown, skiers can join this three-kilometer trail at either end of the park. The trail crosses Blackbird Island, provides views of wildlife, shining waters, and the surrounding mountains and continues on to connect with the Golf Course Trail.
Ski Hill Trails - 7 km
Climbing through the forest east of the Alpine Ski Area, this rolling and turning trail has little level terrain in its seven kilometers. It offers a feeling of seclusion with sunny views of Leavenworth. Food, beverages and warmth are available at the historic Ski Hill Lodge when the Ski Area is open. Five kilometers is lit for night skiing.
